Here are some little tips on how to secure and affix your Harper Boater.
Start by holding the crown of your boater in one hand and with your other hand pull the elastic up and over your head so it sits scooped backwards behind your ears (elastic can be worn straight down under your chin but to keep it sleek and hidden we prefer using this method.) Your Harper boater should now be sitting directly on top of your head.
If you are wearing your hair down fix your hair into position around the elastic.
Decide which side you would love your Harper boater to ‘perch‘ (personally I love to perch mine on the left) gently tilt your boater into position.
Once tilted pull the comb gently outwards and then scoop it back into your hair by gently pushing it, now it should be secure in your hair. This may require a few practice attempts first but once you have the hang of it, it will become easy.
If wearing your hair up in a bun this is when you could gently move the elastic up from the base of your neck so it sits right under neath your bun, just to keep it all looking sleek.
Now for the key ingredient, use mini kirby grips on the elastic to secure fully into position. I use them right near the top of the elastic so they’re hidden underneath the brim of the hat - if wearing your hair down you could also fix a few under neath your hair if needed.
Now your Harper boater should be perfectly perched, enjoy styling her for those very special occasions!

Customs and Duties
All international deliveries are sent on a DAP basis; this means you, as the buyer, are responsible for any customs clearance charges, import duties, VAT, and tariffs imposed by your country’s authority for importing consumer goods. You, as the buyer, are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country, and these charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. We do not collect this beforehand and unfortunately are unable to provide an estimate of the cost as charges vary around the world. We have to fill in the customs forms out very precisely as it’s a legal requirement to do so. Your order value is entered exactly as it shows on our website; it is illegal for the value to be entered as something different. We always suggest that you contact your local customs office for further information.
Once your parcel arrives in the destination country, you will be contacted directly by DHL with easy instructions on how to pay your duties.
If custom fees and charges are refused at the time of delivery, your order will be returned to us as the sender. Unfortunately, you will not receive a refund for any incurred handling along with the original and return shipping costs, and our £5 return processing and handling fee will apply.
Please take this into consideration when placing your order.
